Job Overview

Registered Nurse (RN), Post Acute – PRN, nights shift (3x12h per 6-week period, 7p‑7a, 1 weekend per 6 weeks). The role is at Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas, a 157‑bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and delivers education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee RN license or compact state RN license with Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
