Job summary

UP Health System - Portage in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Podiatry Clinic. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday day schedule with 8-hour shifts and requires an active Michigan RN license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

The position emphasizes delivering high-quality patient care within a collaborative nursing team. Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, care coordination, patient education, and advocacy for patient well-being.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification is required (available upon hire).
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, and family.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers and discharges.
• Educates patients and families appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for patient physical and emotional well-being.
• Delegates care activities to appropriately qualified staff.
• Performs prior authorizations on tests, procedures, and medications as required by insurance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.


• Documents patient care given.

• Performs prior authorizations on tests, procedures, medications, etc. that are required by the patient's insurance.


• Performs other job duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license (or attain within 90 days of hire) and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred). Additional requirements include:
