Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Texas seeks a Clinical Nurse Leader to serve as the nursing practice expert in the assigned unit, driving quality patient care, service excellence, and the adoption of evidence-based practices by bedside staff.

This role focuses on coaching, teaching, and role-modeling professional behavior to develop clinical competence, while engaging teams to sustain a culture of clinical excellence across the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN or enrolled in a BSN program.
• Preferred: Clinical Master's in Nursing or Clinical Education.
• Minimum experience: 3 years' experience in acute hospital nursing practice; CNS or Clinical Educator experience and/or supervisory experience preferred.
• Required licensure: Texas State RN license.

The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) serves as the expert for nursing practice in assigned department/unit/service line. The Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for helping to create and promote a culture that promotes quality patient care and service excellence. Utilizes and teaches evidence-based practices to develop the clinical competence of bedside caregivers. This position will engage and motivate staff to achieve a culture of clinical excellence by coaching, teaching, encouraging, demonstrating and role-modeling expected behavior of staff. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN or enrolled in a BSN program.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Clinical Master's in Nursing in areas of specialization or Clinical Education

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years' experience in acute hospital based nursing practice, in area of specialty.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous CNS and/or Clinical Educator experience and/or past supervisory experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certification in Professional Staff Development and/or Clinical Specialty

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):

Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have

AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

ACLS/TNCC, PALS/ENPC, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are required depending on department hired. REFER TO STAFF RN FOR NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS AND GRACE PERIODS
