Job summary

Zohorecruit is recruiting for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pediatrics/PICU in Hawaii. The role involves caring for critically ill children in an in-patient unit and supporting parents through the care process.

The ideal candidate has PICU experience, current PALS/BLS, NCLEX pass, RN license, VisaScreen if applicable, and willingness to work full-time on site in Hawaii. VisaScreen processing may take 8–12 weeks.

Qualifications

• 1 year PICU experience required.
• Current PALS certification.

In-patient pediatric unit with integrated PICU

Registered nurse provides critical care to chldren. In addition to providing around-the-clock care to thesepatients, PICU RNs offer support to parents. Parental support can rangefrom emotional encouragement to advising parents on how to take care oftheir child when discharged. PICU RNs work as a team member with othernurse practitioners and physicians. Their prime responsibility is toensure that child's critical care treatment is secure.

Job Duties

PICU RNs perform life-sustaining care. Utilizes nursing process to deliver care. Performs any nursing task requiring nursing knowledge, judgment, and skill. Functions as primary nurse/total patient caregiver. Serves as resource nurse and acts as preceptor. Dutiesinclude administering medications, monitoring vital signs and providingvital nutrients to children. PICU RNs must work with members of theinterdisciplinary team to assist in treatment plans and examinations. Teach LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special tasks of nursing care. Keep, maintain and update records of the patient's care. In addition tomedical care, PICU RNs communicate with and educate parents onday-to-day operations as well as home-care procedures.

Requirements

Competency in care of high acuity PICU patients of all ages.Respiratory care such as ventilator management and high flow oxygen. IVfluid management such as drips, titration of medications. Cardiacmonitoring. etc.
