Job summary

Zohorecruit seeks a dedicated NICU Registered Nurse in Hawaii to provide critical care for premature and sick newborns. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, administer medications, monitor vitals, and support families throughout hospital stays and discharge planning.

Requirements include 1 year NICU experience, NRP and BLS certifications, NCLEX pass, and VisaScreen (or in process) with CGFNS for Canadian candidates. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Hawaii.

Registered nurse provides critical care to premature and sicknewborns. In addition to providing around-the-clock care to thesepatients, NICU RNs offer support to parents. Parental support can rangefrom emotional encouragement to advising parents on how to take care ofan infant when discharged. NICU RNs work as a team member with othernurse practitioners and physicians. Their prime responsibility is toensure that a newborn's critical care treatment is secure.

Job Duties

NICU RNs perform life-sustaining care. Utilizes nursing process to deliver care. Performs any nursing task requiring nursing knowledge, judgment, and skill. Functions as primary nurse/total patient caregiver. Serves as resource nurse and acts as preceptor. Dutiesinclude administering medications, monitoring vital signs and providingvital nutrients to newborns. NICU RNs must ensure that infants arebreathing and maturing properly. Work with members of theinterdisciplinary team to assist in treatment plans and examinations. Teaches LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special tasks of nursing care. Keep, maintain and update records of the patient's care. In addition tomedical care, NICU RNs communicate with and educate parents onday-to-day operations as well as home-care procedures.
