Position Summary

Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients.

The General Nursing Units care for patients from age 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff. The Special Care Areas care for patients from age 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions. The Maternal Child Units include Labor and Delivery care, which involves patients with pregnancy-related conditions, and Nursery care for newborns until discharge. The Pediatric care is provided to patients from neonate through age 18. The GI Lab Unit cares for toddlers (starting at 24 months) through adults. The Chemical Dependent and Psychiatric Units care for adult patients and families with emotional problems. The Emergency Unit provides care to patients of all ages, including pediatric and high-risk adults. Surgical Services care for patients from neonate to geriatric.

Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
