Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a Pediatric Registered Nurse for a variable shift, PRN position in Pocatello, ID. The RN will provide direct pediatric patient care across newborn to geriatric ages, with staffing ratios aligned to patient acuity and coordination with the pediatric charge nurse.

Requirements include Idaho RN licensure, current BLS, and within-year PALS and ONS certifications. Prior acute care experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Current RN licensure in Idaho.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• PALS certification within 1 year of hire.
• ONS certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to pediatric patients from newborn to geriatric.
• Care for medical-surgical, oncology, and pediatric patients with moderate sedation needs.
• Maintain staff ratio of 1-3 based on patient acuity.
• Report to the Pediatric charge nurse.
• Coordinate care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating and communicating with care teams.

Responsibilities

• Pediatrics nurses are Registered Nurses (RN) who provide direct care to patients who range in age from newborn to geriatric.
• Patients include medical-surgical, oncology, as well as pediatric patients requiring moderate sedation for special procedures and testing.
• Staff ratio is 1-3 patients according to the acuity of the patient.
• The nurse reports to the Pediatric charge nurse.
• Pediatric RN organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with all necessary providers and ancillary departments on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Obtain PALS certification within 1 year of hire
• Obtain ONS certification within 1 year of hire.
