Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day shift. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families.

Collaboration with medical staff and meticulous documentation are essential to ensure high-quality care and patient safety. The role requires an RN license and BLS, with a BSN preferred and 1+ year acute care experience.

Qualifications

• RN license (Registered Nurse) required
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
• BLS certification required
• 1+ year acute care hospital experience preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and patient records (EMR)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based standards.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
