Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital seeks a Circulating RN to join our OR Team in a part-time role. We perform surgeries across Orthopedics, Spine, Gynecology, ENT, Plastics, Digestive, Bariatric and General Surgery.

The OR Circulator will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate surgical care, anticipating surgeons' needs and ensuring patient safety while maintaining accurate documentation. Strong OR knowledge is required, with minimal call expectations.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure in Idaho.
  • BLS current; ACLS within six months.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Clear verbal and written English communication for safe patient care.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education and activities.
  • Previous PACU/ambulatory/critical care or general nursing experience preferred.
  • Adheres to professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients.
  • Anticipate surgeons' needs and manage OR staffing and equipment.
  • Maintain patient safety per AORN guidelines and documentation standards.
  • Provide high-quality patient care and act as a supportive member of the surgical team.

Job description

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a passionate Circulating RN to join our OR Team! This is a part-time position We perform surgeries in a variety of specialties such as Ortho, Spine, Gynecological, ENT, Plastics, Digestive, Bariatric, and General Surgery. Our surgery schedule generally runs Monday-Friday and call of our OR staff is minimal. As an Operating Room Circulator RN, you will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all surgical patients. The OR Circulator RN will assess for and anticipate the needs of surgeons, manage operating room suites in accordance with AORN guidelines in regards to patient safety, properly conduct documentation, and high provide quality patient care. This position requires strong OR knowledge and skills to serve as a supportive member of the surgical services team.

Qualifications And Preferred Experience
  • Current licensure in the State of Idaho.
  • Must have active BLS and achieve ACLS certification within six months of employment.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement.
  • Previous PACU, ambulatory care, critical care or general nursing experience is preferred.
  • Is aware of professional nursing standards and performs in accordance with them.
