Cascades at Riverwalk in Midvale, Utah is seeking a Part-Time LPN to join our skilled nursing team. You’ll provide medications, document care, and support residents with dignity and safety.

Responsibilities include medication administration, accurate EMR entry, and complying with infection control and safety policies. Flexible Tue and Sat shifts, competitive pay, and opportunities for on-the-job training and continuing education are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active license as an LPN.
• CPR Certification.
• Experience in long-term geriatric care preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments.
• Record time spent performing individual treatments.
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals.
• Notify physician of refusals, non-compliance, or adverse reactions with prompt updates.
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room organized and secure.
• Dispose of sharps according to policy.
• Enter key information into EMR/computer systems.
• Practice infection control, universal precautions, and safety policies.
• React appropriately to emergencies and disasters.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and the medication stored properly
• Ensures the correct disposal of all sharps
• Key information into computer systems including EMR
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures
• React appropriately to emergency and disaster situations
• Other duties as necessary and assigned

What we’re looking for:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current, active license as an LPN
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferred
• Current CPR Certification
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurement
• Must have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skills

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

• Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
