- Shift: Rotating Days/Nights (2 x12-hour shifts)

Clinical Excellence and Real-Time Support
- Dedicated Charge Nurse: Always out of patient assignments to lead clinical operations, support staff, and ensure high reliability throughout the shift.
- Advanced Resource RN: Device-trained and available on every shift to provide high-acuity support (ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT), cover lunches, assist with admissions, and serve as an in-unit mentor.
- Mid-Shift RNs and Clinical Technicians: Surgical throughput is supported with a dedicated mid-shift RNs and two CTs per shift to ensure optimal staffing coverage, workflow balance, and patient safety.

Patient Population and Scope
- High-Acuity Specialty Care: Care includes immediate post-operative management for CABG, valve replacements, TEVAR/EVAR, ECMO patients, heart/lung transplants, and more.

CVICU RN Minimum qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of critical care experience or successful completion of a critical care fellowship
- Education: BSN required (ADN accepted with agreement to complete BSN within 5 years)
- Certifications: BLS (required), ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
- Licensure: RN license in Virginia or compact-eligible
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 or more years of Cardiac ICU RN experience (CVICU or Cardiac ICU highly desired)
- Unit involvement (committees, charge RN, precepting)
