Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Henderson, TX seeks a compassionate RN to join the Recovery Room (PACU) on the day shift, PRN. The role focuses on delivering patient-centered care as patients recover from anesthesia.

You will apply the nursing process to plan and direct care, collaborate with surgeons and the care team, and monitor vitals, pain, and comfort to ensure safe, timely recovery.

Qualifications

• ADN required and active Texas RN license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred or mandatory per unit policy.
• Trauma certification (TNCC/ATLS/TCAR) within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct patient care in the PACU using the nursing process.
• Monitor vital signs, pain, and recovery status; respond to changes in patient condition.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who uses the nursing process to provide and direct patient care for a group of patients for a designated time frame.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Must maintain current Texas RN License .
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• ACLS
• PALS (within 90 days of hire)
• Trauma Certification Course (TNCC, ATLS, TCAR within 1 year of hire)

Preferred Job Requirements:

• PACU, ICU, ER or other acceptable acute care experience
