Job summary

Iredell Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate nursing care for patients in a surgical or anesthesia-related setting. The role requires current NC RN licensure and the ability to delegate nursing activities while ensuring high-quality care aligned with hospital standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, and performing required sedation assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in NC.
• Successful completion of hospital orientation for preoperative patients and anesthesia.
• Skilled in peripheral venous access.
• Competent to administer Moderate Sedation and assist with Deep Sedation.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications.
• Certifications per unit-based requirement.

Job description

The Registered Nurse prescribes nursing care, delegates nursing activities, and coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to provide optimal quality care, consistent with the health care system’s mission and nursing philosophy, objectives, and standards. Has full access to patient health information.

Schedule: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM (32 hours per week)

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in North Carolina.
• Successful completion of hospital and Holding Room orientation which includes age and population specific skills required for continuity of care of preoperative patients and/or patients requiring interventions provided by the Department of Anesthesia.
• Skilled in peripheral venous access
• Competent to administer Moderate Sedation and assist with Deep Sedation
• Certification in BCLS and ACLS by American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Certifications per unit-based requirement.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
