HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, TX is seeking an efficient Outpatient Day Surgery Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team. You will manage pre-op, PACU, and discharge transitions in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or bachelor nursing program.
• Texas RN license (or Multi-State Compact) with US state eligibility.
• Current BLS certification.
• NRP certification strongly preferred.
• 1 year of clinical Day Surgery experience as RN in an acute hospital.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Execute physician orders for treatments and procedures.
• Coordinate care across pre-admission, admission, and discharge phases.
• Assess patient education needs and promote shared decision-making and healthy lifestyles.
• Monitor patient status and document reactions or adverse events per policy.

Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hour shifts

We are seeking an efficient, patient-focused Outpatient Day Surgery Registered Nurse to join our premier Surgical Services team at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena. Operating within our active outpatient surgery department, you will manage the seamless transition of patients through the Pre-Op preparation, immediate post-operative recovery (PACU), and discharge phases of care. Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role

• Administers medications in a safe, knowledgeable, and accurate manner.
• Carries out physician’s orders including treatments and procedures, in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Coordinates care to include pre admission, admission, hospitalization, pre discharge and after discharge where applicable.
• Determines and prioritizes specific patient educational needs. Promotes interactive communication, encourages patient participation in care decisions, and promotes health lifestyles.
• Observes patient, and records significant conditions and/or reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Notification of any such condition and/or reaction will follow the established chain of command.

What qualifications you will need

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required
• Neonate Resuscitate Program (NRP)
• 1 year of clinical Day Surgery experience as a licensed RN in an acute hospital.
