Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality perioperative care in line with department standards. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team to prepare patients, maintain sterile technique, and ensure safe procedures.

You will be an advocate for patients and families, demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing throughout the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License.
• Current BLS and ACLS Certification are required.
• 1 year of clinical OR experience as a licensed RN required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department standards.
• Collaborate with medical providers and care team to ensure safe perioperative care.
• Maintain aseptic technique and verify timeout procedures with the team.
• Demonstrate teamwork and adaptability as a resource to the Surgical Services team.
• Deliver quality nursing care and promote a positive image of nursing.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• You will have an understanding of aseptic technique and apply the knowledge in assuring maintenance of a sterile field and in assisting in a procedure or prepping a patient for surgery.
• You will demonstrate knowledge of which areas need to be prepped for the different kinds of procedure.
• You will assess the patient prior to surgery and establish that the patient understands the procedure being done and that a “timeout” be done prior to any procedure with the rest of the perioperative team.
• You will demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the Surgical Services team.
• You will have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing.

What qualifications you will need

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
• Current BLS and ACLS Certification are required.
• 1-year of clinical OR experience as a licensed RN required
