Additional Information About the Role

Alton Memorial Hospital provides advanced surgical services in a state-of-the-art facility. Surgeons perform a variety of inpatient and outpatient procedures, working with a skilled team of anesthesiologists, surgical nurses, and technologists.

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has served residents in Alton, Illinois, and surrounding communities. It offers inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, emergency care, and more.

The Operating Room consists of 7 General rooms, one Cysto room, and one Minor procedure room. Staffing is from 0700 to 1700 Monday-Friday, with other hours covered by a Call Crew.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose: Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient and family-centered care, educate on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance. Engage in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document care plans collaboratively with the team and patients.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and barriers.
• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree

Experience: No Experience required

Licenses & Certifications: RN license

Preferred Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience: Less than 2 years
