Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a PRN RN, LPN, or Paramedic to provide administrative, clerical and back-up medical support at customer sites in Colorado. The role includes absence management, medical records, and emergency care responsibilities.

Qualified candidates will hold Colorado licensure, be able to perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. CAOHC/NIOSH certifications are preferred; shift 8–9 hours, 3–5 days/week onboarding with potential increase.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado licensure or certification as LPN, LVN, RN or Paramedic.
• Certification in audiometry (CAOHC) and spirometry (NIOSH) - preferred.
• BLS Provider certification; instructor level preferred.
• State-required certification to perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration (where applicable).
• Strong ability to stay calm in emergencies and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, monitor emails, schedule appointments, manage inventory, and data entry.
• Maintain confidential medical records (hard copy and electronic).
• Provide emergency response (BLS) and first aid for occupational/non-occupational incidents.
• Support health surveillance testing: phlebotomy, vaccines, vision, ECGs, urinalysis, audiograms.
• Review test results and coordinate follow-up with employees and leaders.
• Coordinate return-to-work/fitness-for-duty exams and contact offsite providers as needed.
• Assist with the alcohol/drug program: coordinate random testing and document results.
• Support site wellness programs, including blood pressure and flu shot clinics.

Total Safety is looking for a PRN - RN, LPN, or Paramedic to add to their safety conscious team. The PRN will provide administrative, clerical and back-up medical support to customer site. Including, but not limited to: absence management, medical record maintenance, and other general administrative duties as assigned.

Brief Description

• RN, LPN, or Paramedic with any state-required certification to perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration
• PRN role, expect 3-5 days/week during onboarding, then 1-3 days per week
• No weekends expected through 2024, but may be needed in the spring during Turnaround
• CAOHC audiogram and NIOSH spirometry certification - preferred

Summary Of Duties

• Administrative functions including answering phones, monitoring emails, scheduling appointments, inventory management, data entry
• Maintain confidential hard copy and electronic medical records
• Provide emergency response (BLS), first aid assessment, and treatment of occupational and non-occupational illness or injury
• Conduct health surveillance testing which includes phlebotomy, vaccine administration, vision exams, ECGs, urinalysis, audiograms, pulmonary function tests
• Review and action test results
• Perform case management functions including initiating follow-up with employees and leaders for medical absences and restricted duty, conduct or coordinate return to work/fitness for duty exams, contact offsite providers to clarify medical information or work status, coordinate case meetings with leaders and HR to address medical accommodations
• Support the alcohol and drug program including coordinating the random testing program, scheduling appointments, monitoring and actioning results, contacting related vendors as needed
• Provide site wellness programs such as blood pressure clinics, flu shot clinics

Hours / Schedule

• PRN role with part time (8-27 hours/week) needed currently but may vary/increase up to full-time hours based on work volume (e.g., vacation coverage, other workplace demands)
• Day shift with hours ranging from 0600 - 1900 (may vary)
• Shifts are usually 8-9 hours, 1-3 days per week
• Usually weekdays but could require weekends based on need

Must-haves (minimum Requirements)

• Active Colorado licensure or certification as LPN, LVN, RN or Paramedic
• Certification in audiometry (CAOHC) and spirometry (NIOSH) - preferred
• Adult Emergency First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/AED (BLS Provider) - instructor level for AHA, or HSI preferred
• State-required certification to perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration (if applicable)
• Exceptional first aid proficiency with an ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
• Understanding of health and wellness programs, including support of medical surveillance and wellness programs
• An ability to work independently with minimal supervision
