  • Department: Physician Clinic – General Surgery (may float to OB-GYN/ Internal Medicine/Basin Clinic)
  • Reports To: Clinical Nursing Director or Physician Clinics Director
Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner, using proper procedures. The staff member must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their shift. The individual must understand the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess patient data reflective of their status.

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse, OR a Medical Assistant (certified preferred).
Experience

Prefer at least 2 years of experience in an outpatient care setting.

Skills
  • Effective communication with personnel and patients.
  • Ability to take pertinent, concise patient histories.
  • Verbal presentation of information and ideas.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of medical/legal considerations.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new applications.
  • Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations.
  • Serve as a positive example to other employees.
  • For RN or LPN:
    • Knowledge of aseptic techniques, current drugs, their actions, and side effects.
    • Up-to-date IV therapy and venipuncture skills (LPN must be IV-certified with the State of Wyoming).
Required Certifications

BLS (AHA) certification required.
