Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking an evening shift, PRN Operating Room Registered Nurse. You may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

Responsibilities include planning, directing and evaluating surgical nursing care from preoperative through postoperative stages, ensuring continuity of care with the nursing process in a fast-paced OR setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current NJ RN license and active license to practice in NJ.
• Minimum 2 years OR experience.
• ACLS and BLS required; PALS preferred.
• BSN or CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and evaluate direct/indirect nursing care for surgical patients.
• Provide care from preoperative through postoperative stages, using the nursing process.

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical Patient.This nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention to postoperative evaluation.It is a practice designed to meet a patient’s needs through the nursing process, ensuring continuity of care during the surgical experience.

Job Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursingMust have RN NJ LicenseCurrent state Registered Nurse licenseCurrently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of New Jersey and must be familiar with the Basic Nursing Performance Standards as Outlined in the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act.Evidence of continuing education in the field of OR nursing2 years minimum as OR experience.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.Pediatric advanced life support (PALS)Preferred Job Requirements:BSNCNORCertification in specialtyRate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
