Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking an evening shift OR Registered Nurse PRN to join our surgical team. Eligible for sign-on bonus up to $20,000.

The RN will plan, direct and evaluate nursing care from preoperative through postoperative stages, working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. NJ RN license and BLS/ACLS required; PALS preferred; 2 years OR experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current New Jersey RN license and active licensure.
• 2 years minimum OR experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications; PALS preferred.
• Compensation includes pay differentials based on role and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, direct and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care with continuity through the surgical experience.

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical Patient.This nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention to postoperative evaluation.It is a practice designed to meet a patient’s needs through the nursing process, ensuring continuity of care during the surgical experience.

Job Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursingMust have RN NJ LicenseCurrent state Registered Nurse licenseCurrently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of New Jersey and must be familiar with the Basic Nursing Performance Standards as Outlined in the New Jersey Nurse Practice Act.Evidence of continuing education in the field of OR nursing2 years minimum as OR experience.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.Pediatric advanced life support (PALS)Preferred Job Requirements:BSNCNORCertification in specialtyRate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
