Job Summary

• This opening is for the Operating Room.
• Requires at least 1 year of recent operating room experience.
• Schedule: PRN, OR hours are 6:45AM-3:15 PM with some late shifts. M-F, no holidays, no weekends, no call. Candidate must be flexible with workdays based on center needs. Anticipated 2-3 days/week, but no set schedule or guaranteed hours.
• Department: Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), surgical services.
• Location: Hawthorne Surgical Center, 1999 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem.
• Unit Info: Procedures include Ophthalmology, Pain, & Podiatry. 12 bays in pre-op & 12 in PACU. Four OR rooms and 2 procedure rooms.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year/Associate Degree required; graduate from an accredited nursing school required; 4-year/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience: One year of ASC, PACU, or OR experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in the appropriate state required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Skills: Understanding of RN roles per NC nurse practice act, prioritization, workload organization, age-specific care, and proficient in telephone screening and interviewing.
