Job summary

AdventHealth seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse in Castle Rock, CO, to join our full-time day shift. You will assess patients, develop and execute care plans, administer treatments, and document care with accuracy.

You will educate families and coordinate with the care team to ensure safe, effective outcomes. Qualified candidates have an RN license and 1+ year of medical-surgical or surgical experience, with proficiency in EMR systems and English communication.

Qualifications

  • RN with active license and current BLS/ABLS/CNOR or equivalent.
  • 1+ year medical-surgical and/or surgical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and with physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions and needs to develop care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for comprehensive care.
  • Administer medications and treatments per protocol.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed.
  • Document care activities accurately in the medical record.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.

Job Description
  • Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Perform(s) other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent interpersonal skill set, demonstrating compassion and respect to patients and family undergoing stressful procedures and treatments.

  • [Required] Maintain safe knowledge of equipment, procedures, supplies, computer, IV pumps, NOVA Glucose monitor, I-STAT, Immediate use sterilization policy and procedures.
