Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room Circulator to join a fast-paced OR team in Hickory, NC. The 13 operating rooms support a wide variety of procedures, with approximately 15–30 cases per day. The role offers self-scheduling and a supportive perioperative environment.

Ideal candidates hold a NC RN license with 1–2 years of OR experience. BLS is required within 30 days; ACLS/PALS within six months.

Qualifications

• Current NC RN license required.
• ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• One to two years of OR RN experience required.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care in the surgical setting using the nursing process.
• Perform accurate patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
• Document medical necessity in the medical record.
• Participate in creating and revising the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
• Complete and revise QI assessments.

The Operating Room team at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where nurses play an essential role in delivering exceptional surgical care. With 13 operating rooms and approximately 15-30 cases performed daily, team members gain diverse procedural experience while working alongside skilled surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Provides direct patient care in the surgical setting using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One to Two years of Operating Room RN experience required.
