Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room Circulator for PRN shifts (8- or 10-hour) in Hickory, NC. The role requires NC RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS within six months, and 1–2 years of OR RN experience.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact; licensure updated if relocating.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• 1–2 years of Operating Room RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide age-appropriate care based on patient condition.
• Document medical necessity timely in the chart.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Conduct timely and accurate QI assessments.

Our operating room

• 13 Operating Rooms
• Supporting a wide variety of surgical procedures
• Approximately 15-30 cases per day
• Collaborative team environment with opportunities to expand expertise

How you'll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One to Two years of Operating Room RN experience required.
