Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide total nursing care, assessments and family education during night shifts for a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Current CA Registered Nurse License.
• ADN (G70AH / G70AK) or BSN (G70AZ / G70AD).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification and ACLS certification.
• Effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels and maintain positive working relationships.
• Active listening skills.
• Compassionate and non-judgmental caregiver and advocate.
• Able to independently manage multiple priorities.
• Must comply with Respiratory Fit Testing Protection Policy.
• Must complete EKG test within 60 days of hire/transfer.

The Clinical Nurse assumes principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation of each assigned patient. • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used drugs for specific unit.
• Initiates, documents progressive patient, and family/significant teaching.
• Facilitates the discharge process ensuring all goals are addressed prior to discharge.
• Initiates interdisciplinary communications and incorporates recommendations.
• Works with other disciplines for complex discharge planning and early facilitation of discharge process.
