Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is seeking Registered Nurses for Night Shifts to provide nursing care to psychiatric patients (children and adolescents) in a 118-bed facility in Dothan, Alabama. Responsibilities include documentation, leading nursing groups, administering medications, following program guidelines, ensuring a safe therapeutic environment, admissions and discharges, and appropriate use of restraints when necessary.

A sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Diploma or associate degree in nursing required.
• Active Alabama RN license or eligibility to practice in Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to psychiatric patients (children and adolescents).
• Document patient care using established nursing processes.
• Lead nursing groups and follow program guidelines.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment; intervene with disturbed patients.
• Handle admissions and discharges; utilize restraints when necessary.

Responsibilities

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is currently seeking REGISTERED NURSES for Night Shifts

The Registered Nurse Provides nursing care to psychiatric patients (children and adolescents) utilizing established nursing process. To include but not limited to: Documentation, providing nursing groups, following program guidelines, medication administration, providing a safe and therapeutic environment by intervening disturbed patients, admissions and discharges, using restraint techniques when necessary.
