Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is seeking an Assessment/Intake Registered Nurse to join our team. The RN will perform in-person level of care determinations, crisis intervention, and coordinate the intake process as part of a 3pm–11pm shift, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend call.

Ideal candidates have an Alabama RN license and experience in psychiatric settings, with strong communication across referral sources, families, patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Active Alabama RN license required.
• Two years in psychiatric setting with crisis intervention preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person level of care determinations and crisis intervention.
• Initial contact with referral sources and potential patients.
• Coordinate referral and intake processes.

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

Laurel Oaks is searching for an Assessment/Intake Registered Nurse to join our team. The Intake Registered Nurse provides in-person level of care determinations and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. This position is Full Time, M-F 3p-11p; rotating call weekends.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, active license in the state of Alabama required.
• Two years or more experience preferably in a general psychiatric setting (outpatient or inpatient) and crisis intervention, intake/admissions.
