Job summary

Gulfport Behavioral Health System is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) to join our psychiatric care team. The RN will coordinate and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the health team, across child, adolescent, and adult populations.

Nurses work 12-hour shifts, with rotating weekends, and there is an opportunity to interview on Walk-In Wednesdays from 9am–12pm. Required is graduation from an accredited nursing program with MS licensure; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required; CPI certification within 90 days of employment.
• Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate patient care following the nursing process and standards of care.
• Collaborate with health team members to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Work 12-hour shifts (7p–7a) with rotating weekends and participate in ongoing training.

Position Summary:

Join a team where the Staff Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Opportunities to work with various patient populations including children, adolescents and adults. Our nurses work 12 hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with some rotating weekends. Walk-In Wednesdays - Interviews for RNs on Wednesday from 9am-12pm.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and CPI certification (Management of Aggressive Behavior) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures. Training can be obtained during new hire orientation.

Hours: 12-hour shifts, 7p - 7a. Rotating weekends.
