Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a day shift, full-time NICU RN to join our experienced team. The role focuses on coordinating safe newborn care and family-centered support in a busy NICU.

You will be responsible for assessing needs, prioritizing goals, and delegating tasks while adhering to state regulations. A strong foundation in nursing with NICU experience preferred and a commitment to ongoing certification is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS required for Tele, ICU, and PCU.
• Oncology certification required for Post Surgery.
• All certifications must be completed within the first year.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe patient care delivery for NICU patients.
• Assess patient/family needs and revise plans of care accordingly.
• Delegate care to appropriate staff to optimize outcomes.
• Comply with Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse works under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
• The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revises the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
• The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Job Requirements :

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Tele, ICU, and PCU require ACLS.
• P ost Surg ery requires oncology certification .
• All required certifications must be completed within the first year of employment.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• At least one year of recent experience in a similar healthcare setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
