Job summary

Paris Regional Health in Paris, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Emergency Services on night shifts. As a New Grad, you will join a mission-driven team focused on delivering high-quality patient care and utilizing cutting-edge technology to enhance patient outcomes.

You will perform care interventions, monitor patients, and collaborate with the care team while developing your clinical skills and pursuing continuous education and growth opportunities within our health system.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor and communicate patient condition to care team, physicians, patient and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines (transfers, discharges, referrals).
• Provide education based on age and condition; promote patient wellbeing.

Essential Functions

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a associates degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience required
• ASLS certification preferred
