Job summary

Paris Regional, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Emergency Services (New Grad nights) in Paris, Texas. You will provide plan-of-care interventions, monitor patient condition, and collaborate with the care team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license for the state of Texas.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and coordinates care across disciplines.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education.

Essential Functions

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a associates degree from an accredited nursing school.

Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience required
• ASLS certification preferred
