Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24-hour emergency care, a Sleep Disorders Center, and outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

The Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation Unit (C.M.R.U.) is an 18-bed Joint Commission Accredited (J.C.A.H.O.) inpatient unit at Christian Hospital. Patients are adult through geriatric and require intensive rehabilitation therapy, including at least two modalities such as speech, occupational, and physical therapies. Diagnoses include C.V.A., orthopedic problems, neurological/neuromuscular disorders, polyarthritis, amputation, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, and traumatic brain injury.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educates on illness management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans with goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver, ensuring communication across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards. Considers patient preferences, values, and cultural needs.
• This is a safety-sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety is essential.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
