Job summary

Reading Hospital in Reading, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Neuro/Trauma unit. You will evaluate patients, plan, implement and document care, and educate patients and families. The unit provides diverse clinical experiences and supports a high level of patient-centered care.

The 30-bed unit operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center with a 1:3 patient-nurse ratio, offering opportunities for advancement, tuition reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits.

Neuro/Trauma Overview

• 30‑bed unit specializing in intermediate care of medical, neurosurgical, and trauma patients (Level 1 Trauma Center).
• Unit offers a variety of clinical experiences and is the location for established ventilator patients and transplants.
• Care team includes physicians, social workers, case managers, and pharmacists to provide comprehensive care.
• Patient‑to‑nurse ratio is 1:3 and the unit has led initiatives in video‑monitoring.
• Experience working with diverse, complex patient populations including trauma, medical, neurosurgery, and general surgery.
