Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process per standards.
• Execute plan of care including medication administration and tests.
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition for the team.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility as needed.
• Coordinate transfers, discharges and referrals across disciplines.
• Educate patient and family based on age and culture.
• Advocate for patient well‑being and participate in performance improvement.
• Maintain reliable attendance and adapt to unit needs.

How You’ll Contribute

• Provides direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

What we are looking for:

• Associate's degree in nursing required, bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License/ Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BCLS required
• ACLS,
• PALS,
• Handle with Care preferred.
