The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a nurse graduate who will assist registered nurses in patient care, perform routine procedures, and adhere to safety protocols. This role includes medication administration under supervision and requires graduation from an accredited nursing program.
After successful completion of an organized staff development program, which includes an evaluation confirming the nurse graduate's competence through skills validation, the nurse graduate may perform and document routine procedures taught within the nurse graduate’s generic nursing program.
The nurse graduate assists the Registered Nurse in patient status evaluation by reporting patient information such as vital signs or responses to nursing interventions, including pain management.
The nurse graduate may administer medications under the direct supervision of an RN but may not administer medications independently.
Performs CPR as needed and follows institutional infection control guidelines.
Implements established institutional and unit policies and procedures to ensure patient safety.
