Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians in Columbus seeks a registered nurse to join the outpatient team, providing nursing care under physician or midlevel supervision, collecting and analyzing patient data, and implementing individualized care plans.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team, educate patients and families, and ensure safety and infection control standards are followed. CPR/BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

  • Active Ohio RN license and CCNE/ACEN-accredited ADN program completed.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Experience in triage and clinic/urgent care settings.
  • Knowledge of safety and infection control standards.
  • Ability to educate patients and families about disease and care.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Poise, tact, and diplomacy in professional settings.
  • Analytical thinking to interpret data and plan care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a physician or midlevel provider, and provides a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient,
  • Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes,
  • Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of the outcomes,
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Perform professional nursing work of considerable difficulty including the care of patients as outlined by physicians and the objectives and policies of the organization.
  • Provide patient and family health education and health assessment.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program .
  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse license.
  • CPR/BLS certified.
  • Knowledge of triage procedures along with clinic, physician office and/or urgent care experience.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids.
  • Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment.
  • Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
Pay Range

USD $32.85 - USD $48.55 /Hr.
