Job summary

Mercy Clinic Neurology in St. Louis is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our outpatient clinical team. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role offers a Monday–Friday day-shift schedule and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative medical practice.

You will support physicians, perform routine nursing duties, assess patients, administer injections, and help coordinate patient care in a clinic setting. A strong patient-care focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid state nursing license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and support physicians in evaluation, treatment and ongoing care of patients.
• Assess patients, review medical histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Assist physicians with patient care and procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Maintain infection prevention and safety standards.
• Support referrals and other clinical administrative needs.

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. What You'll Do

As an RN with Mercy Clinic Neurology, you will provide professional nursing care and support our physicians in the evaluation, treatment and ongoing care of patients.

Responsibilities Include

• Assess patients, review medical histories and chief complaints, and obtain and document vital signs


• Prepare patients for examination and treatment while maintaining patient comfort and safety


• Assist physicians with patient care, treatments and procedures


• Perform nursing procedures specific to the clinical specialty


• Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injections as required


• Perform IV therapy


• Provide patient education and reinforce individualized care instructions


• Respond to patient phone calls, coordinate with physicians and communicate follow-up information


• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record


• Support laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed


• Properly handle and store medications


• Respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations that may arise in the medical office


• Maintain examination rooms, medical equipment and supplies


• Follow infection prevention, safety and universal precaution standards


• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations


• Support referrals and other clinical administrative needs to help ensure smooth coordination of patient care

Qualifications
