Job summary

Wilson Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 22-bed Med Surge unit. You will assess patients, plan and implement care, and document medical necessity while collaborating with the care team.

The role requires an RN license, BLS and ACLS, and offers comprehensive benefits with a 3x12 shift pattern and rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Nursing degree from an accredited program.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• New grad RNs welcomed, 1 year RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify needs.

Our 22-bed Med Surge unit is split onto two floors with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6 is staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Patient Sitters providing care for a variety of patients including those on dialysis, diabetes, heart disease, geriatric patients, and recovering surgical patients.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN), who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

Qualifications and requirements
