ChristianaCare Health System in Newark, Delaware, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the 6B Medical Unit on day shift. The RN will work three 12-hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays, delivering relationship-based care to adults 18+ with acute and chronic medical conditions.

The ideal candidate holds a Delaware RN license (compact state acceptable), has at least 1 year med/surg experience, and BLS.

Qualifications

• RN license in Delaware or a compact state is required/strongly preferred.
• BSN is preferred with commitment to obtaining BSN within 3 years of hire.
• BLS certification required or current.

Registered Nurse (RN) - 6B Medical Unit Day Shift (Hours: 7 am -7 pm), including Weekends & Holidays per department guidelines. Newark, DE ChristianaCare Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6B Medical Unit. The selected candidate will work three 12-hour shifts each week. As a medical nurse, you will implement a relationship-based care model, fostering connections with patients, their families, and colleagues, all while being guided by our values of love and excellence.

Unit 6B is an inpatient unit designed to accommodate 40 patients who need acute and/or chronic medical services. The scope of services on 6B encompasses a variety of diagnoses/testing, including, but not limited to, pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and altered mental status. The patient population cared for in this area includes adults aged 18 years and above. The conditions of patients cared for on the unit can be described as good to fair. Patients are received/transferred/admitted from the emergency department, ICU, step-down unit, home, and doctors’ offices. Staffing: The charge nurse is responsible for daily assignments, taking into account each patient’s diagnosis, condition, acuity, age, developmental level, and the qualifications of the staff.

Education & Experience

RN License in Delaware or a Compact State BSN preferred or committed to acquiring BSN within 3 years of the hire date. At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN is required. BLS required.

Hourly Pay Range

$42.11 - $67.37 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
