Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Surgical Med Surg Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an acute care setting. You will collaborate with physicians, care teams, and patients to ensure outstanding outcomes, while applying established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.

The role requires a Texas RN license (or compact license with Texas eligibility), BLS certification, and 1 year of Med-Surg experience.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing; ADN/BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact; must obtain Texas license within 60 days of hire date.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• 1 year of Med-Surg experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement the admission process.
• Coordinate care and collaborate with other departments to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, understand actions/indications and reassess effectiveness and document.
• Coordinate discharge planning/case management services from the Direct Admit Unit.
• Maintain clear and respectful communication with patient, family, physician and care team.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• You will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing the admission process.
• You will be responsible for coordinating care and collaborating with other departments to ensure positive patient outcomes and that all of the needs of the patients and significant others are met.
• You will be responsible for the administration of medications, knowledge of actions, indications, adverse reactions, dosage, and route. Also, must reassess patients for effectiveness of medication and document appropriately.
• You will coordinate discharge planning/case management services from the Direct Admit Unit.
• You will maintain clear and respectful communication with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers. Practice excellent customer service at all times.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date).
• American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
• 1-year of clinical Med Surg experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required
