Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team. You will follow established nursing models and advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring an outstanding patient experience.

This role requires Texas RN license (or compact), 1+ year Med‑Surg experience, and an Associate degree (Bachelor preferred).

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact license required.
• Minimum Associate degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ year RN experience in acute Med-Surg setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures and document care in the medical record as ordered.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Respond to patient requests promptly and proactively address needs.
• Educate patients and families about condition, plan, medications, and follow-up.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care, collaborating with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, compassionate care in accordance with department requirements and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. You will follow established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage," act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, and embody the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

What you will do in this role:

• Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of Texas or a compact license with Texas.
• Associate degree minimum requirement; Bachelor degree preferred.
• 1+ year of experience working as an RN in an acute hospital Med‑Surg setting.
