Job summary

Texas Health Frisco is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Surgical department on full-time days. You will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, planning, and ongoing evaluation using the Nursing Process, with emphasis on safety and timely transfers.

Requires active RN license and CPR certification. Experience in tele, surgical, plastics, bariatrics, or spine is preferred; strong teamwork and commitment to high-quality patient care are essential.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or higher required; RN licensure upon hire.
• 1 year RN experience or completion of RN residency program required.
• BCLS, CPI annual maintenance; ACLS required for charge nurse duties.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Evaluates effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age-specific safety and infection control measures.
• Initiates information for patients and families; ensures continuity of care across shifts and transfers.

Work hours: Full Time (Days) 7am-7pm. Weekend and holiday requirements

Medical Surgical Department Highlights

• 30-bed General Medical Surgical Tele unit – fast paced, quick turnover
• Experience with tele, surgical, plastics, bariatrics, spine highly preferred.
• 1:5 patient ratio, PCT for every 10-15 patients

Here’s What You Need

• Nursing Diploma Nursing Req Or Associate's Degree Nursing Req or Bachelor's Degree Nursing Pref
• Experience 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
• Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req And
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support charge only 90 Days Req

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
