Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a registered nurse to coordinate total nursing care for patients in a hospital setting in Vernal, Utah. The role includes patient and family teaching, advocacy, and collaboration with physicians and other staff.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate's Degree in Nursing with at least a year or less of experience, be current with BCLS, and obtain ACLS/PALS within six months of hire. An RN license in the state of practice is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs.
  • Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients.
  • Develops individual nursing care plans.
  • Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed.
  • Evaluates patient care outcomes.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees.
  • Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
  • Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
  • Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
  • Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.
Additional Information
  • Maintains facility equipment, supplies and work areas.
  • Assists in the orientation of new employees.
  • Coordinates and supervises activities of employees and department operations.
  • Participates in performance/process improvement activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: 1 year or less

Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position.

Licenses: Current RN license in state of practice

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.
