Job summary

Hartford Hospital's Bliss 7 ICU seeks an experienced ICU RN for the Medical Intensive Care Unit. You will work under a Critical Care Pulmonologist with a team of PAs, APRNs, RNs, and house staff, delivering advanced care 24/7.

Qualifications include CT RN license, BSN, BLS, and at least one year of acute care RN experience. Exceptional candidates with ASN/ADN pursuing BSN/MSN may be considered; Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• BSN required from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in the Medical ICU ( Bliss 7 ICU ), under supervision of a Critical Care physician.
• Provide high-level clinical assessment and interventions for patients with complex acute medical issues.

This posting is on Bliss 7 ICU, the Medical Intensive Care Unit which is a 12-bed unit that provides care to patients with a wide range of complex, highly acute medical issues. These issues include but are not limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, and drug and alcohol withdrawal. Under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit is staffed 24 hours a day with a team of Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Registered Nurses, and medical house staff physicians consisting of interns and residents.

In the Medical ICU, our goal is to develop our staff into well-rounded, highly skilled medical professionals. The unit will push you to your limits as you will be working in a fast-paced environment where your critical thinking, vast medical knowledge, clear communication, and your extensive skillset will be challenged and grown.

• Current Connecticut RN License.

• Minimum one year acute care RN experience strongly preferred.
• In exceptional circumstances, Registered Nurses with an ASN/ADN who are currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
• Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
