Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Beverly, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Johnson 3 medical telemetry unit. The 32-bed unit provides care for patients with stroke, cardio-pulmonary disorders, and acute infections using evidence-based practice and a team approach.

You will complete assessments, administer medications, perform wound care, and monitor patient progress to optimize outcomes on a night shift. A BSN is preferred and a MA RN license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Telemetry experience or successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Care of the telemetry patient within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments, administer medications, wound treatments, observes patient’s progress and evaluates therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each individual patient.
• Support and educate patients and their loved ones to achieve maximum outcomes.

Johnson 3 is an exciting 32 bed medical telemetry unit that uses evidence-based practice to compassionately and expertly care for patients with stroke, cardio-pulmonary disorders, and acute infections including sepsis. We are the designated stroke unit that is providing exciting opportunities for growing our bedside neurological assessment skills. Our staff uses a comprehensive team approach in caring for our patient population where we pride ourselves in creating a positive work environment.The services we provide include patient education such as diabetes teaching, congestive heart failure checklists, continuing care for acute blood clots, respiratory care, comprehensive stroke care, and discharge planning instructions in regard to the specific admitting diagnosis. Our new telemetry monitoring system allows staff to carefully assess for cardiac arrhythmias (chronic or acute) during the patient’s stay and treat such arrhythmias accordingly, as well as complete care of the patient with self-limiting and chronic conditions.
