The unit has multiple private rooms to accommodate the needs of the variety of patient populations that are served there. Johnson 6 also has three four bed rooms which overflow beds are available in case of elevated census. There is one negative pressure room to accommodate needs of patients requiring this level of need.The entire unit has had an assessment to accommodate the behavioral health patients we care for that may happen to be on suicide precautions. These patients tent to be placed in the private rooms at the Nurse’s Station for the highest levels of monitoring.Patient Population Johnson 6 accepts patients of 16 years of age or older with chronic medical conditions. Patients cared for on this unit generally range in age 20 to 90 years of age, there is such a range of ages on Johnson 6 due to the variety of medical conditions that are treated can impact any age group. Patients are admitted from many services including internal medicine, medical oncology, hospice, infectious disease, behavioral health, thoracic surgery and renal.
