Job summary

Aurora West Allis Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the 6 South Med/Surg Oncology unit on dayshift. You will participate in Nurse Residency and preceptor orientation, caring for patients with medical, surgical, and oncology needs, including post-operative recovery and related conditions.

This role emphasizes building foundational nursing skills, teamwork, and compassionate, evidence-based patient care in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• New RN's and Experienced RN's WELCOME!

Responsibilities

• Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.
• Build skills in time management, triaging accountabilities, communication skills, pharmacology, lab interpretation, pathophysiology of disease process through a variety of med/surg patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.
• Be a valued member of a highly skilled, resilient, and versatile nursing team committed to ensuring the delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare to diverse patient populations.

Registered Nurse (RN): Med/Surg Oncology - Dayshift

6 South: Med/Surg Oncology

Where You Will Work

6 South Med/Surg/Oncology is a 34-bed inpatient unit caring for patients with medical, surgical, and oncology needs, including pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, pancreatitis, acute renal failure, and post-operative recovery. The unit also features four inpatient hospice beds, providing compassionate continuity of care for patients at end of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for new and experienced RNs to build a strong nursing foundation, earn Med/Surg and Chemotherapy certifications, and develop versatile clinical skills. Our team is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What We Are Looking For
