Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Gynecology (Night Shift)
Location: Seattle, WA
Position Highlights:
- Schedule: Full-Time (36 hours per week)
- Shift: Night Shift (12-hour shifts)
- Hiring Bonus: $15,000 Hiring Bonus available for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment. 1 This is in addition to a fantastic benefits and compensation package.
Position Summary:
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Med/Surg Gynecology unit of our esteemed partner medical facility in Seattle, WA. This full-time night shift position involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse adult female patient population with various gynecological and related medical/surgical conditions. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate advocate for patients, committed to safety and quality, and eager to contribute to a professional and collaborative healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Practice & Patient Care:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, identify appropriate nursing diagnoses, and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Develop, update, and coordinate the patient's plan of care across the care continuum, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Monitor, accurately record, and effectively communicate patient conditions and changes to the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform and maintain currency in essential nursing competencies as required by the Med/Surg Gynecology specialty and patient populations served.
- Patient Advocacy & Ethical Care:
- Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic patient care by partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of patients and their families.
- Learning Facilitation:
- Foster a supportive learning environment for patients, families, fellow nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team, including students.
- Facilitate both formal and informal learning opportunities related to patient conditions, care, and health promotion.
- Safety, Quality & Evidence-Based Practice:
- Maintain accountability for patient safety, proactively identifying and correcting potential problems.
- Integrate evidence-based practices and research into nursing care, utilizing data to improve patient outcomes.
- Prioritize patient safety, self-safety, and environmental safety to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Professional Development & Leadership:
- Engage in ongoing professional development and practice to the full scope of licensure within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and specialty standards.
- Promote a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates, and disseminates research and evidence-based practices.
- Lead and coordinate care teams, delegate tasks appropriately, and collaborate effectively with all members of the inter-professional care team.
- Model professional behaviors as a representative of the nursing profession within the practice setting and the community.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Current, unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.
- Current National Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Current National Provider NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire.
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in a Med/Surg Gynecology setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- National Certification in a relevant area of specialty (e.g., Medical-Surgical Nursing, Women's Health) upon hire.
