Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg General Surgery 3W at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. The role requires applying the nursing process to deliver patient care with accountability and collaboration across departments.

This full-time position offers a 36-hour workweek with night-day shift rotation (days 7:00pm–7:00am) to support our patients and team. The ideal candidate will hold an MO RN license (compact acceptable), with hospital experience preferred and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an RN license (MO or Compact).
• BSN preferred but not required.

• Provide patient care following the nursing process and maintain professional accountability.
• Evaluate overall effectiveness of care and coordinate with other departments.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med surg General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
