Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg 5E. The role uses the nursing process to deliver patient care, ensures patient rights, and coordinates with other departments.

Full-time, 36 hours/week, days 7:00am–7:00pm. Sign-on bonuses up to $10,000 for experienced nurses and up to $5,000 for new graduates. A BSN is preferred and Missouri RN licensure or compact licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from an accredited nursing program with ADN, Diploma, or BSN.
• Licensure: Active MO RN license or compact license per state rules.
• Experience: Hospital experience preferred; required by some units.
• Certifications: BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

About the Unit

Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
• Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred QualificationsEducation: BSN preferred
• Preferred QualificationsLicensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Preferred QualificationsExperience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
